Kick Start w/ 2.5" Micro Ball and 3" Half Ball: Create 3 in 1 System

Still in diapers and just learning how to walk? Well, then we have the perfect extra small Si Board for you! Kids and toddlers wanted to try our boards but they were to large for their small feet and size. We knew we had to give these future Si Boards superstars their own board. The Kick Start is the perfect place to start learning balance, develop complex movements with a great sense of body awareness and have fun without knowing you are actually in training. Create multiple training boards and progress from basic to advanced.

  • Balance Board Combos: Create 3:1
  • Size: 18" x 10"
  • Ride Stance: 12" - 16"
  • Skill Level: Beginner, Toddlers
  • Heights: Riders under 4'
  • Balls: 2.5" Micro Ball
  • Half Balls: 3" Mini Great for toddlers and small kids learning how to balance
  • A fun activity to learn coordination and body position awareness
  • Fun for the family
  • Can be used outside

Let The Games Begin:

Kick Start your engine and get kids revved up and active at an early age. Help them develop their skills on a balance board sized just for them. Fun for all with the added benefit of child development for coordination and strength training. Easy to handle and small enough to take anywhere and train.

Built For The Little:

We noticed kids around 10 and under had a difficult time riding our Turbo board. Eager to try and determined to ride, toddlers and young kids were drooling to jump on board. The rail size is perfect for very small feet. With a half ball and ball included, you can progress from basic training to elite status.

Balance On This:

Get Started Here:

Create your own unique combo with this board. Add the Balls and Half Balls that meet your training needs.

2.5" Micro Balls:

The 2.5" Micro ball is just the right size for tiny tots. The board will tilt and roll enough for the start of a great balance challenge. The 6.25" inch wide rail will not allow the ball to roll past small feet.  If using on an extremely padded surface or deep carpet these balls will be absorbed and limit your ride motion. Use two Balls to create a Double Pivot Board and then progress your skills to one Ball.

3" Half Balls:

The 3" Half Ball gives the board enough tilt without overpowering and requiring excessive range of motion for a small sized rider. Use one for a Wobble Board tilting in all directions. Use two Half Balls to create a Rocker Board that tilts in 2 directions and as an easier start to learning balance.

Extend Your Rail and Ride Space

Customize Your Balance Board!

All Si Boards Starter Boards come with an adjustable urethane rail. All parts are interchangeable with the same interlocking joint system. Starter Boards come with a smaller rail compared to the Original Boards and give you the option to extend your rail to the maximum ride space. Progress or regress your ride space based on your skills.

Can I Use 4" Extensions?

Nope, sorry there is not enough room to add 4" Extensions.  As you progress you can remove the rail and place it on a larger board with 4" Extensions.

Elysia's Notes:

The Kick Start board is just about the cutest thing you have ever seen, next to your little one using this board. We had fun designing a graphic that represents you taking a wild ride through outer space on the Si Boards roller coaster. I've enjoyed watching very small kids set up their boards and jump on because they are so inquisitive and love to figure out new things. Toddlers wanted to use a board like their older siblings or parents and we knew we just had to create something super fun for them. Have a blast little Si Boarders!

Si Boards Progressions for Beginner to Advanced

Basic Combos: From Beginner to Advanced

1. Rocker Board: 2 Half Balls

Place Half Balls flat side up for faster tilt. Using two creates a Rocker Board that tilts in 2 directions - Left and Right for example. The farther the Half Balls are from one another, the more stable the surface. You can place them very close together for more challenge. This is great for holding a position and rocking the board left and right to activate your muscle coordination.

2. Wobble Board: 1 Half Ball

Place 1 Half Ball under your board and it will tilt in all directions and allow you to twist the board. Place in the center for an equal weight distribution. Place to the side and you will activate the side directly over the Half Ball. This is great for developing strength on one side if it is weaker or unable to function the same after an injury.

3. Single Pivot Board: 1 Half Ball and 1 Ball

Place 1 Half Ball under the left side of the board and 1 Ball under the right side of the board. The left side will tilt front to back and the right side will pivot or slide forward and backward. A great progression to learning how to activate hip rotation on a moving board on one side of your body.

Best set up: 3" Ball and 6.5" Half Ball or 5" Ball and 8.5" Half Ball

4. Double Pivot Board: 2 Balls

Use 2 of the same sized ball under your board to activate each side in rotation. Placing the Balls close is more difficult. You will get multi-direction motion without the extreme tilting from left to right feet. A perfect combo for advanced skills like surf pop-up, quadruped, deep squats and adding difficult upper body battle rope exercises while maintaining balance.

5. Multi-Direction Board: 1 Ball

The heart of the Si Board is riding on 1 Ball for a multi-direction platform. The freedom to move left/right, front/back, twist, diagonal, clockwise/counterclock and 360 spins all at the same time. This is the most advanced balance board skill to learn fine motor skill and full body awareness.

Specialty Combos: for Unpredictable Training

6. Rock and Roll: Small Ball inside of Half Ball x 2

Placing a small Ball inside the Half Ball creates two moving surfaces. The small Ball rolls around inside of the Half Ball. The Half Ball is placed flat side up and creates a rocking or wobble motion. Four moving surfaces that keep you level and don't allow the board to roll to extremes. You feel all surfaces continuously knock into each other abruptly. Perfect for deep stance endurance simulating rough water and windy conditions.

Use these combos:

  1. 3" Mini Ball rolling inside a Vortex 5" Half Ball or 6.5" Half Ball at each end
  2. 5" Small Ball rolling inside a 8.5" Half Ball at each end

7. Thrasher: Small Ball inside of Half Ball x 1

Placing a small Ball inside the Half Ball creates two moving surfaces. The small Ball rolls around inside of the Half Ball. The Half Ball is placed flat side up and creates a rocking or wobble motion. Two moving surfaces that give you extreme tilts in all direction with slight board rolling. Perfect for holding your push-up position against an opponent and a narrow squat with very quick foot reactions.

Use these combos:

  1. 3" Mini Ball rolling inside a Vortex 5" Half Ball or 6.5" Half Ball
  2. 5" Small Ball rolling inside a 8.5" Half Ball

8. Ball Big Drop: Medium Ball fixed tight inside a large Half Ball

Wedge a Ball inside the Half Ball so that the two parts do not move. You have two different sized balance points and this gets you up high off the ground. You will teeter/hover around and just as the Half Ball gets to the edge you will feel a fast drop to the ground. Reaction to this feels like a sudden drop and being able to control landing on you sport board.

Use these combos:

  1. 5" Small Ball fixed tight inside a 6.5" Half Ball
  2. 6.5" Medium Ball fixed tight inside a 8.5" Half Ball

How It Feels To Balance On:

          Riders 3' to 4':

          • Perfect size for small feet and bodies
          • Plenty of ride room for the ball and board tilt
          • Will not overpower a small rider

          Riders 4' to 5'4":

          • Small stance that will ride fast
          • Quick board motions are challenging
          • Fine tune your coordination by keeping level

          Riders 5'4" to 6':

          • Extremely Narrow stance that requires the board be centered under the body
          • Quickly move this board while staying level
          • Full body moves are not possible

          Riders 6' and Taller:

          • Very minimal stance that keeps the board centered under the body
          • Challenging to keep feet narrow
          • Full body moves are not possible

          Suggested Balls and Half Balls:

          2.5" Micro Ball:

          • Beginner ball that is very fast and responsive
          • Enough board motion without having too much tilt
          • Keeps the board lower to the ground to stop easier

          3" Mini Ball:

          • Advanced ball that is fast and quick to turn
          • Gives the board a lot of tilt
          • Keeps you high off the ground

            Suggested Half Balls:

            • 3" Mini Half Ball for beginners
            • 5" Vortex Half Ball for advanced riders and extreme tilt

            Who Should Use This?

            • Riders with small feet who need a small rail to control the board
            • Have plenty of space available to ride- at least 4' x 4'
            • Taller users who don't want a lot of range of motion

            Not Recommended:

            • 5" Small, 6.5" Medium, 8.5" Large and 10" Super Deluxe Ball
            • 5" Small, 6.5" Medium and 8.5" Large Half ball
