Hello Si Boarders!
Jump on board and learn how to ride using this Foundation Movement Sequence! This is the same movement pattern I use in all demos with new riders, athletes doing rehab and seasoned pros.
Use your board to the max and wake up your legs! Let's get started...
One of the most common questions I receive- How do I start to ride?
This movement sequence is the foundation to all board motions. The Si Board is multi-directional and requires proficiency of body awareness in all directions.
Equally important is the mastery of single leg balance as you weight transfer from foot to foot.
The best way to start is to hold on to a stable surface- a treatment table, squat rack, counter top or your couch.
Ride from rail to rail while holding on to feel how much range of motion you have and how much your pelvis will pendulum swing.
When ready, stay in the center and gently let go. React to the board motions. As you gain confidence you will be able to ride rail to rail!
Use these six movements with a center placed ball:
Then do the same sequence with the ball under one side of the board to strengthen one leg over the other.
This is the best way to teach new clients how to ride with confidence! And for you seasoned pros- it's time to incorporate these moves with your complex full body training.
Apply these 6 movements to any board stance or position- push-ups, dips, bridges, reverse push up, kneeling and even ab rolling- the possibilities are endless!
Have fun!
