This rail is great for kids with small feet or those growing up fast. As you develop your skills you can expand your rail. A perfect option for kids and customizing to your needs. Keep changing out the board size or add more extensions.

Please note:

Use a board tops in good condition. We are not responsible for damage to your platform. We suggest using at least an 11 ply if you weigh under 220 pounds. If you are over 220 pounds we suggest a 13 or thicker ply. Note: the listed dimensions measure the outside of the rail.

Balance Board Combos To Fit Your Needs

Create your own unique combo that suits your needs. Add Balls and Half Balls for your training. Featuring an adjustable rail so you can grow with your board. A great option for young kids with smaller feet who quickly outgrow their clothes!

3" Mini Balls:

These are the smallest Balls and are very quick and responsive. They will keep you close to the ground and give you the sensation of floating on air. Beginners should start with these balls. If using on an extremely padded surface or deep carpet these balls will be absorbed and limit your ride motion. Use two balls to create a double pivot board and then progress your skills to one ball.

5" Small Balls:

This size Ball is an advanced size and will give you a lot of tilt with starting and stopping. The 5" Small Ball should be used by adults and kids with larger feet who can ride the 3" Mini balls well.

5" Half Balls:

These small Half Balls are the perfect beginner size that will create a challenging surface. Perfect for toddlers and kids progressing to this board. Use two for a basic rocker board or one for a wobble board tilting in all directions. Half balls allow you to progress from the basics of balance or multi-task in complex motions as you progress. The Vortex 5" Half Ball gives you the option to create advanced Thrasher or Rock and Roll combos when combined with the 3" Mini Ball inside the recessed area.

6.5" Half Balls:

This size Half Ball gives you a lot of tilt for experienced riders who need more range of motion. You will be able to rotate the balance board better with this size. Use a 3" Mini Ball and 6.5" Half Ball for the Thrasher and Rock and Roll combos. Use a 5" Small Ball and 6.5" Half Ball for the Big Drop combo.

Rail Extensions:

All Starter Kits feature a urethane rail that is pieced together. You can put in middle rail extensions to increase the length by 4" or 8". The rail can also be placed on a larger board. A great way to adjust and reuse your balance board as you gain in skill and height.

Elysia's Notes:

If you have that creative bug like I do- then this is perfect for you! Design your own balance board and use our rail kit. I love hearing stories of how everybody created their board. Some had left over project wood from house renovations, woodworkers with a shop or those who love to create. Have fun and don't hesitate to ask us for help or suggestions. And now- go create!

      QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

      Ask a Question
      • Went to the other wakeboard shop today and found a hyperlite scape wakeskate board. It is made out of wood and is 9 ply wood. I had a bit of a feel of it and it just felt that it would be a little flexy - I think I remember that the Si boards are atleast 11 ply and indo board is 13 -15 ply wood. The wakeskates have a really nice rocker. Do you think this would handle being converted into a Si-board?

I checked out the wake boards- pretty cool looking. I read in one add that it was maple plywood- a great strong wood. The boards are probably pressed with the rocker- this also adds strength to the board. Our Original boards with the steel railing are 9 ply birch plywood. Our starter boards are 11 ply birch plywood. We can get away with the 9 ply without any board flex because of the steel railing. We originally attached the creator kit to our 9 ply boards and it was ok for me. When we had heavier riders- 200 lbs/90 kg ride it, it flexed a lot. So we had to do the 11 ply for a board top for the creator kits. I think if you weigh 160 lbs max the board would be ok. One thing you could do is put it on the floor on a baseball or something hard like that. It will flex a little more because it doesn’t have the rail attached to it. If you step on it and it flexes down to the ground- probably too much weight for the board to hold. If you are able to get up on it and it doesn’t flex too much- it might hold you. If the plywood is maple or birch- it won’t break in half but continually flex at the point over the ball. If you get up on the board and hear popping and cracking, it definitely wont hold you. I think if you put the Creator Kit on the wake board it will probably hold you, you will have to get used to the board flexing on you a little bit. If you stand close over the rail the board will also flex less. If you stand really far beyond the railing the board will flex quite a bit.
